Johanna and Simon got married on Saturday, 11 July 2026, at Morrhof in Großkarlbach, and I was their DJ. A ceremony in the garden by the pool, dinner in the pavilion, a party into the morning.

They found me on Instagram. In his inquiry, Simon wrote about sundowner vibes early on and more energy later. The first time I saw them was at Parookaville, during my set.

They gave me three favourite songs: Unwritten, The Hills and Atlantis. I played all three, The Hills at midnight. Below is a stretch of the night, played in this order.

Their first dance was Birds of a Feather. Three minutes in, I took over with a house version of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough that brought every generation onto the floor. In the middle of the party, Birds of a Feather came back as a remix with a house beat. They’re festival people too, so it fit, and the older guests danced to it as well. The last song was Wildflower. The song Simon proposed to her with.

The place

Morrhof sits in the middle of Großkarlbach, a wine village in the Palatinate, fifteen minutes from Bad Dürkheim. The Morr family took over the old estate in 2020. They have run a catering business since 1991 and cook in-house. Next door is the 18th-century church of St. Jakobus, if you want a church wedding.

The rooms

The garden looks like a piece of Tuscany, with cypresses and a pool. That is where Johanna and Simon said yes. Dinner is in the pavilion or on the Piazza Toscana with its winter garden. The Orangerie has marble floors, stucco and a Florentine fireplace from around 1550, right next to the garden.

Staying overnight

With around 40 rooms, your guests can stay on site. Many couples also celebrate here on weekdays.

DJing at Morrhof

At Morrhof, the venue provides sound and lighting. The party is in the Spiegelsaal or the club area of the Orangerie, both with their own bar. For Johanna and Simon, I built the night like this: party from the first dance, more and more club later on. How I think about wedding music

How late can you party at Morrhof?

The Spiegelsaal is made for long parties. The exact time for your wedding is in your contract with Morrhof.

Where does everything happen, and for how many guests?

You get married in the garden and have dinner in the pavilion or on the Piazza Toscana with its winter garden, which seats up to 140 guests. The dancing happens in the Spiegelsaal or the club area of the Orangerie.

Can guests stay overnight at Morrhof?

Yes. The venue has around 40 rooms, spread across the Orangerie hotel, the Piazza, the family house and a suite in the bathhouse. There is parking with EV charging too.

What does a DJ for a wedding at Morrhof cost?
